African Drama

Second Class Citizen by Buchi Emecheta

Girl, I didn’t read this semi-autobiographical novel while I was in high school but I am very sure that you are going to love it.

A semi-autobiographical novel is a story that is partly based on the author’s own life, but also includes fictional details. The novel is about a young Nigerian woman, Adah, who went to England to get a better education and live a good life but was faced with racism, sexism, and even marriage problems.

 The Rock by Darlington Johns

 Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison

Caged Bird by Maya Angelou

The Song of Women of my land by Oumar Farouk Sesay

Unexpected Joy at Dawn by Alex Agyei-Agyiri,

The Leader and the Lead, Nugi Osundate, and several other African Prose/Drama that you are surely going to read throughout your 10th grade.

These books and figurative expressions are going to help you gain effective communication skills, analytical skills, and also digital skills especially the drama if you have a good Literature teacher.   Hope this helps, and thank you for reading.
