How to Get a Clean Face

By Janet Brooks

Having a clean face is not easy like people make it look on TikTok. Especially here in Liberia. Hot sun, dust everywhere, sweat from running late to school, plus all the stress from assignments and housework. Your skin going through it.

But the good thing? You don’t need expensive products or plenty money to have a clean, fresh face. You just need to be consistent and smart with what you have.

Let me break it down for you..

1. Wash Your Face Morning & Night (No Laziness Here)

Sis, I know sometimes you tired after the whole day: school, cooking, helping at home, but please, wash your face before you sleep.

• Morning: Wash away sweat from the night

• Night: Remove dust, oil, and dirt from the whole day

You can use:

• Clean water + mild soap

• Or simple face wash if you get it

Tip: Don’t use harsh bathing soap on your face every day, it can make your face dry and cause more pimples.

2. Stop Touching Your Face Every Minute

Be honest… how many times you touch your face in class?

Dirty hands = more pimples.

• Desk dirty

• Phone dirty

• Money dirty

Then you carry all that to your face. Try your best to leave your face alone unless your hands clean.

3. Drink Water Like Your Life Depends on It

I not joking.

Sometimes the pimples coming because your body dry inside. Instead of always buying soft drinks or cold water in sachet with sugar, try to drink more clean water.

Even carrying small bottle to school can help.

4. Don’t Use Everything People Recommend

One friend will say:

“Use this cream, it will clear your face in 2 days!”

Another one:

“Mix this and this!”

Before you know it, your face start burning or getting worse.

Sis, please, not everything is for your skin.

• Avoid mixing random creams

• Be careful with bleaching products

• If something hurting your face, STOP using it

5. Keep Your Pillowcase & Towel Clean

This one people don’t talk about enough.

If your pillowcase dirty, all the oil and sweat goes back to your face every night.

Try to:

• Change pillowcase at least once a week

• Use a clean towel for your face (not the same one for body)

6. Watch What You Eat Small

I am not saying don’t enjoy your life oo. But too much:

• Fried food

• Greasy snacks

• Sugar

Can sometimes cause breakouts. Try balance it with:

• Fruits when you can

• More water

• Less oily food every day

7. Be Patient With Your Skin

This one important.

Your face will not clear overnight. Even those girls you see with smooth skin, some of them struggled too.

Don’t compare yourself too much.

Just stay consistent:

• Wash your face

• Keep things clean

• Use simple products

Your glow will come, small-small.

Your face doesn’t need to be perfect to be beautiful. Even with small pimples, you are still fine. Confidence matters more than anything. Take care of your skin not because of pressure, but because you love yourself. And remember, we are all figuring it out together. You are not alone in this.
